です・だ

だ da  Direct style / ですdasu Distal style

Meaning : to be ( am, is, are, were, used to )

～は ～だ。＝ Indicates a determination.

Auxiliary verb indicating a claim

“ですdesu” is a polite expression of assertion.

In addition to “ですdesu”, there is “だ da” as an auxiliary verb to express assertion.Thus, “ですdesu”  “ますmasu” is an auxiliary verb that expresses a polite assertion.

きょう　  　　こ  ども　　    たん じょう び

今日は 子供の 誕 生 日 だ。

kyouwakodomonotanjyoubi da

Today is my child’s birthday.

登山に行って来ます。

tozan ni itte kimasu
