Particle に・へ

There are several particles that are used in almost the same way. In this article, we will consider “に ni ” and “へ e “.  These particles have almost the same meaning when interchanged.  However, the nuance of the sentence changes.

If you use “に ni ” :  

                                                                                           

もしよければ、こちら来てください。

moshiyokereba  kochira ni  kitekudasai

If you like, please come here.

If you use “へ e ” :  

                                     

もしよければ、こちら来てください。

moshiyokereba  kochira e  kitekudasai

Please come this way if you like.

When using ” ni ” ・・・・ When the subject is clear

A specific place, a place that is not anywhere else, etc.

When using “e ” ・・・・ When the subject is not clear

Direction, direction, rough area, etc.

In other words, in the previous example, the particle changes depending on the place indicated by “here”.

                      わたし     じっか         

もし良ければ、私の実家来てください。

moshi yokereba watshino jikkani kite kudasai

If you would like, you can come to my parents’ house.

                        やまなし         

もし良ければ、山梨 来てください。

moshi yokereba yamanashie kite kudasai

If you would like, please come to Yamanashi.
