Particle に・へ

There are several particles that are used in almost the same way. In this article, we will consider “に ni ” and “へ e “.  These particles have almost the same meaning when interchanged.  However, the nuance of the sentence changes.

If you use “に ni ” : 　

                                                                                            き

もしよければ、こちらに 来てください。

moshi　yokereba  kochira　 ni  kitekudasai

If you like, please come here.

If you use “へ e ” : 　

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　                   き

もしよければ、こちらへ 来てください。

moshi　yokereba  kochira 　e  kitekudasai

Please come this way if you like.

When using ” に ni ” ・・・・ When the subject is clear

A specific place, a place that is not anywhere else, etc.

When using “ へ e ” ・・・・ When the subject is not clear

Direction, direction, rough area, etc.

In other words, in the previous example, the particle changes depending on the place indicated by “here”.

　　　     よ　　　　　        　わたし　    じっか　　       き

もし良ければ、私の実家に 来てください。

moshi yokereba watshino jikka　ni kite kudasai

If you would like, you can come to my parents’ house.

　　　       よ　　　　　 　      　やまなし         き

もし良ければ、山梨へ 来てください。

moshi yokereba yamanashi　e kite kudasai

If you would like, please come to Yamanashi.
