西本願寺 / Nishihonganji
Nishi Honganji Temple, registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as one of the “Cultural Properties of Ancient Kyoto,” is the head temple of the Honganji sect of the Jodo Shinshu sect. The temple is the head temple of the Honganji sect of the Jodo Shinshu sect. The precincts of the temple are lined with famous buildings built after the Momoyama Period (1573-1600), making it a must-see sightseeing spot in Kyoto, not only from a religious perspective but also from a cultural asset perspective.
