品川 / Shinagawa
The Shinagawa-Konan area is a waterfront area extending east of Shinagawa Station, most of which is located at the Minato-ku Konan address. 2003 saw the opening of Shinagawa Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen bullet train line, and with the construction of high-rise office buildings around the Konan exit of Shinagawa Station, the area has developed into one of Japan’s leading business centers. The Shinagawa-Konan area enjoys the convenience of being within living distance of Shinagawa Station, the gateway to Tokyo, and its waterfront location overlooking the city center and Tokyo Bay is an attractive feature of the area. In addition, a new JR Takanawa Gateway station is scheduled to open in 2020 on the west side of Konan 1-chome. A new town development is planned around the station, and expectations are high for further development in the future.
